The convention and tourism industry rebuilt Atlantic City's economy in the late 1980s and through the 1990s. Now one of the nation's top tourist attractions, the city boasts 13 gambling casino/hotels, which attracted 33 million visitors in 2004. Coupled with its famous beaches and boardwalk, Atlantic City's superb hotel accommodations annually draw nearly 5,000 conventions, trade shows, and meetings. Since 1975, the casinos have funneled $7 billion back into the city's economy in addition to creating some 55,000 jobs. A tax on casino gross revenue provides $300 million annually for state programs for seniors and the disabled. In addition, the Atlantic City Cape Community College features a Casino Career Institute, which has trained more than 46,000 students for employment in the gaming industry.

On Monday, March 8 through Friday, March 12, a stop and go/ lane shift traffic pattern will be in effect on Wrangleboro Road in Hamilton Township, between the Atlantic City Expressway overpass and Leah Lane, 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, for utility work by the South Jersey Gas Co.

Police and traffic directors will be on site to assist. Delays will be encountered. Motorists are advised to allow for additional travel time or seek an alternate route.

On Monday, March 8 through Sunday, March 14, a detour will be in place 24 hours a day in the eastbound lane of Mill Road, between Fire Road and Old Zion Road. Casinos like cafe casino. Motorists should follow the posted detour or seek an alternate route.

Zion Road

On Monday March 8 through Friday, March 12, an alternating lane traffic pattern will be in effect on Zion Road, between Bargaintown Road and Old Zion Road, 7 AM – 3 PM, weather permitting.

Steelmanville Road
On Monday, March 8 through Friday, March 12, an alternating lane traffic pattern will be in effect on Steelmanville Road, between Ocean Heights Avenue and Blackman Road, 7 AM – 3 PM, weather permitting.

Atlantic City Tourism Statistics 2020

After an inspection and evaluation, the New York Avenue bridge over Gravelly Run in Hamilton Township, between Reega Avenue and Route 40, will remain closed to traffic until further notice.

Is bovada illegal. The damage assessment by an engineering underwater dive team revealed extensive damage to the superstructure of the bridge, requiring its closure.

Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route and plan travel time accordingly.

Effective February 22, intermittent lane or road closures may be in effect over the next 1-2 weeks as follows for work by Atlantic City Electric.

Smithville Chestnut Neck Road- Work to continue for approximately 7 days for distribution work.

Chestnut Neck Road- Work to continue for 15 days for both highline and distribution work.

Motorists may experience delays and should plan travel time accordingly. Additional delays may be incurred due to inclement weather.

Beginning Monday, March 23, Cotton Mill Bridge in Mays Landing will be closed to all traffic until further notice for a full bridge replacement. Route 40/50 will serve as the detour route. Motorists should follow the posted detour and plan travel time accordingly or seek an alternate route.
